About

Bilal Aksoy

The framework is the easy part.

I'm a software engineer specializing in Flutter (contributor) and Dart, with 4+ years of experience building mobile applications. The product and UX decisions behind a feature interest me as much as how it gets implemented.

I don't keep a wall of side projects: a few things I've shipped, and contributions to the tools I actually use.

FlutterPR #194020

Merged

Fixed Flutter web on Android keeping a keyboard-shrunk view, with negative keyboard insets, after the keyboard closed. The engine now picks up the taller viewport again.

ServerpodPR #5800

Shipped in 4.0.4

Restored the two-way comparison in the database integrity check. A regression had let it pass databases missing the columns, indexes and foreign keys the models declare, for two years and 46 releases.

JasprPR #727

Shipped in 0.22.2

Fixed testComponents crashing on components that render RawText.

This very site is built with Jaspr.

flutter_stripePRs #2395 & #2396

Shipped in 13.0.0

Fixed collectBankAccount and verifyMicrodeposits returning the wrong type by introducing a sealed CollectBankAccountResult union, then brought both methods to web with Stripe.js interop bindings in stripe_js and WebStripe. Native and web share one result shape.

aerial-dynamic-wallpaperpersonal

Swift

Turns Apple's aerial wallpapers into one wallpaper that follows the sun on macOS 26 and 27, as a solar-dynamic HEIC or as the live aerial itself. Nothing runs in the background.

Say hello.

Whatever it's about, I'm happy to hear from you.
